Is there something you want?
THEN STOP!
Stop trying! Stop trying to get it! Stop trying to make something work. Stop trying to figure it out.
Imagine you are on a road with a ditch on either side. The ditch on the left side is trying – trying in your own ability. The ditch on the right side is being stagnant – waiting, wanting, and not having. The center of the road is simply being. When I asked the Lord how to get what I wanted, the Lord told me identity first.
“Doing” flows from being.
I used to be a master of trying. I was always trying to get something, make something, or keep something. I learned the power of letting go and to stop trying. After letting go, I went to the other side of the ditch and waited, wanted, and hoped. Both options kept me close to where I started; they held me back from any forward momentum at all. I asked God what I should do. Just tell me what to do! The Lord talked to me about my identity first. I couldn’t move forward in truth if I didn’t know the truth of my authentic self.
First of all, I believed a lie about who I was and what was mine. Because I thought I didn’t have something, I would go between trying to get it or wait for it. When I came to the center of the road. There was truth.
This is what the Lord showed me about truth. Truth has a name, and His Name is Jesus. He is Truth, and His Word is Truth. Jesus, His Word, became a mirror reflecting to me who I am, what is mine, and what He finished on the cross. I changed my mind from false identity to Truth. In the center of simply being one with the Lord, as He is, in His perfect finished work, and blessed with every spiritual blessing, I am lead by God – not trying or waiting for anything.
Won’t you join me in the center where Truth resides today?
